Hypothesis

The ambition to let the community of Panningen take responsibilty for their community centre and to develop this into a social hub for all ages.

Purpose of this Pop-up School

Researching special chances and opportunities, which must be feasible and acceptable. Renovation, connections, and preservation are key concepts regarding the creation of solidarity.

Who participated?

Students, teachers, employees of Zuyd and participants of the municipality Peel en Maas.

How?

Using the TASC model (Think, Act, Share and Create). This model provides the fundament of the Pop-up School.

First impressions of the first edition

 Verduurzaming Pop-up School

Other communities have shown interest in a Pop-up School as well. The municipality of Maastricht wants to bring the talents of volunteers into the spotlight by setting up a citywide Pop-up School. The municipality of Kerkrade would like to cooperate with Maastricht in order to connect volunteers or in order to pimp a shopping street. The municipality of Roermond wants to find binding factors in a district where the supermarket is disappearing. The association of entrepeneurs from Heerlen signed up for a Pop-up School which should develop a bigger identity of a shopping street.

Jos Laugs is creating a business model for this situation, which will make other parties involved in the development of the Pop-up School as well.
